Why a persuasion keynote

Non-sales professionals spend 41 percent of their working time persuading, influencing and convincing others, and that's before you count the sales team. (Daniel Pink, To Sell Is Human)

So what does your organisation actually know about the science behind all that persuading? Usually, not much. A keynote is the fastest way to put the seven principles in front of everyone at once, with the research behind them and the cases that make them stick.

Themes

Each of these can stand alone or be woven into a keynote on your own theme.

Influence: the ultimate business skill

The seven principles, what the research says about each, and how to use them to get the decisions you need.

Influence to build relationships

How trust and collaboration are built, and the principles that make a relationship last past the first deal.

Influence in uncertain times

How to keep people with you when the ground is moving, and how decisions change under pressure.

Influence for action, change and engagement

Why people nod and then do nothing, and how to make a request they actually act on.

Leadership through persuasion

Moving people towards a shared goal without the authority to simply tell them.

Pre-Suasion: opening the door

Dr. Cialdini's work on what happens before the message: arranging for people to be receptive before you say a word.

Online influence

Behavioural science applied to websites, emails and the digital journeys where most decisions now get made.

Tailored to your room

Tell me who is in the audience and what you need them to leave with. The keynote is built around that.

Your industry

Cases and language your people recognise.

Your strategic theme

The annual theme or the proposition the whole event is about.

Your urgent challenge

The one thing that, if it got a yes this quarter, would change the year.

Questions people ask about keynotes

How long?

Forty-five, sixty or ninety minutes. Sixty is the most common. Ninety leaves room for the audience to work on something of their own.

In person or virtual?

Both. In person works best for a conference or an offsite; virtual suits a team spread across offices.

Is it a sales pitch for the training?

No. The keynote stands on its own. If people want to go further afterwards, the training and workshops are here.

What does it cost?

It depends on length, location and tailoring. You'll have a price in writing after the call.
